Edinburgh's Hogmanay is a four-day winter festival that takes place at the end of each year. In 2009-2010, the Hogmanay festival has an additional day. The headline event of the festival is Edinburgh's Hogmanay Street Party where 100,000 or so revellers jam into the city centre to see in the New Year.

The Torchlight Procession opens Edinburgh's Hogmanay festivities. It takes place each year on 29th December, starting at Parliament Square by St Giles Cathedral at 6.30pm (gather at 6pm) and winding its way down the Mound to Calton Hill.
