Looks like there is a deep depression (no pun intended) heading our way for the 31st. Some sites foecasting 70mph winds.
It will be interesting to see if the upgrades carried out by the organisers afer the last cancellation will allow the show to go on.

Hi,
We're living in Glasgow but going to Edinburgh Hogmanay. How do we get back to Glasgow after the festivities? Are there extra trains or buses running?

We need some advice really. We have booked rooms for the new year and were hoping to come up with our two children aged 2 and 4. We have now been advised that it is not reccommended to take children to any of the parties going on in the city itself. It seems the main problem would be the prams for the kids!!

On my first trip to Edinburgh for the 2005/6 Hogmanay, I videod the firework display but managed to overwrite the whole thing the following morning. Not a bright start to the year.
Does anyone know where I can download the whole display (possibly an '.avi').

Great site and lots of helpful info... thanks. I read that Edinburgh is going to try and break the record for the Longest Strip the Willow at the Night Afore Fiesta - what is the world record anyway?
