Fort William Announce Hogmanay Street Party Information

Fort William is hosting a spectacular Hogmanay celebration this year both for local residents and visitors to the area.

The event is a music and dance evening on New Years Eve fronted by the Peatbog Faeries, recent winners (Nov 05) of 'The Best Live Act of 2005' at the prestigious Scots Trad Music Awards.

Based on the Isle of Skye, the Peatbog Faeries have been described as the future of Celtic dance music. They incorporate many influences, which take them from traditional jigs and reels through jazz, hip-hop, reggae and more. There will be support music as well. http://www.peatbogfaeries.com/

The event will take place in a marquee in the Nevisport Car Park in the centre of Fort William. It is a ticket only event with tickets costing £20 per person.

Our annual Hogmanay Ceilidh is an opportunity to enjoy and experience a Highland New Year Party. The Ceilidh appeals to all sections of society from the family group to the young and singles, as well as seasoned, Highland veterans. The music is usually provided by two bands - a traditional Ceilidh band who play good old foot-stomping jigs and reels for all ages. Also a contemporary group covering hits from 60s, 70s and 80s.

2004/5 was significantly over-subscribed so purchase your Ceilidh ticket as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Phone 01397 700707 to reserve. More info available at http://www.neviscentre.co.uk/hogmanay.htm
