Stirling's Hogmanay celebrations 2008/9

PROGRAMME

Headlining will be iconic Scottish band DEACON BLUE featuring Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh. Central FM DJs and Clanadonia will get the party started around 9.30pm. Supporting will be Finlay MacDonald, Scotland’s hottest young piper and his dynamic band with renowned fiddler Chris Stout. Deacon Blue on stage 11pm.

The event will also include a countdown to the bells and a fireworks display high above the Castle at midnight.

Event ends by 1am.

Tickets are now on sale from the Albert Halls (01786 473544), Tolbooth (01786 27 4000), Macrobert (01786 466666) and Ticketmaster (0870 534 4444). Tickets can also be bought online here. On Hogmanay, The Albert Halls and Macrobert will be open until 5pm.

PARKING
The Thistle Marches Car Park will be open and FREE from 6.30pm on 31st December.

Other available parking in the town includes Viewforth, Linden Avenue, Burghmuir Road, Dalgleish Road, Rainbow Slides and some on street parking but some of this may be paid parking.

DISABLED ACCESS
Seating for registered disabled ticket holders is from a special viewing platform. This platform allows for a maximum 16 wheelchair users each with one companion.

Access times to the actual Esplanade Arena will be as for other members of the audience.

Access by vehicle for dropping off registered disabled persons is up to 8.30pm on 31st December and can be by either the Ballangeich Road or Spittal Street routes. Please be advised that in order to gain access through the road closures, persons should be carrying both their event ticket and their registered disabled badge with them. Vehicles must then leave the Esplanade and park outside the road closure. The Visitor Centre will be available for use by disabled ticket holders prior to and immediately after the event and will be manned by a steward. Vehicle collection of disabled ticket holders will only be permitted at such time as the police deem it safe to access.

CANCELLATION POLICY
In the event of bad weather, a decision to proceed or not will be made at the site meeting convened at 6pm on 31st December. Information will then be given out as soon as possible via radio and websites if it is cancelled.

Refunds will then be available from the point of sale after Monday 5th January, but will only be given in the event of a cancellation, or at the discretion of management.
