After high winds led to Stirling's Hogmanay concert in 2014-2015 being cancelled just as the main act - The Waterboys - were about to come on stage, Stirling has reconsidered its annual Hogmanay celebration.

This year, again, the main event is a more family orientated Light Parade featuring illuminated sculptures and lanterns, produced in workshops and carried by members of the public, that will proceed through the city followed by entertainment at Port Street. The event is billed as alcohol-free.

There will also be a "Midnight Moment" with fireworks across the skyline at the bells.

Musicians, bands and arts groups will be on hand to lift the occasion with a series of workshops throughout November and December (bookings can be made online at the event web site). The workshops are run by experienced carnival artists and open to all, though participation in the parade is part of the requirement for workshop attendance.
