The Lerwick Up Helly 'A Viking Festival, The Clann and The Bollywood Brass Band will lead a 12,000 strong crowd from the heart of Edinburgh's historic Old Town passing down the Mound, along Princes Street and Waterloo Place to end up at Calton Hill, a traditional common ground in Edinburgh.

Hundreds of torch carriers will be accompanied by the pipes and drums of both traditional and contemporary outfits. In the past this has included the Dhol Drummers, the Erskine, Stewart's Melville and Coalburn Pipe Bands, the Sativa Drummers, She-Boom, the Coalburn Silver Band, the Impact Drumming Group, the Gutty Slippers and Commotion.
